Rushville Consolidated High School is excited to offer our Fire and Rescue program starting in the 2024-25 School year! This program will be housed at RCHS next school year and it will move off campus for the 2025-26 school year. Fire and Rescue will be a two year program geared towards juniors and seniors. Next year, students will take two consecutive blocks of classes for the program at RCHS, Principles of Fire and Rescue and Fire Fighting Fundamentals. During year 1 of the program, these classes will not be everyday. Due to the block schedule at RCHS, the classes will be every other day. Year two of the program will have
classes everyday and will consist of Advanced Fire Fighting and the Fire and Rescue Capstone Class which includes the EMT certification process.
Students that complete the Fire and Rescue program will have opportunities for careers as:
Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Marshal, Wildland Firefighter, Fire Inspector, and Fire Investigator.
