Sami DeLey was the first recipient of the Bison award! This is an award that Mr. Cook started last year and it is represented by the Bison because the Bison is an animal that instinctively runs through a storm to get through it quicker. Miss DeLey jumped into Ag classes and FFA this year feet first and is doing a great job working through all the different components! Thank you, Sami, and congratulations!
Beacon Credit Union donated $500 to the RCHS food pantry. Today Ms Scanlan accepted the check. Our community businesses are absolutely amazing and this will go right back into our community by helping out families. THANK YOU!!!
As you know, RCHS must select one student for our student of the month, but we have so many great students! We would like to recognize the other students who were also nominated for student of the month so they can be celebrated and recognized! Please congratulate the following students: Austin Bousman, Damien Zamora, Megan Alexander, Megan Shook, Abby Hill, Jane Hall, and Braydon Wilson. Great job, Lions!
Next up is our Health and PE Department. All of our teachers were here last year, so we have a very solid group! Heidi Cox came back after retirement and is teaching some Physical Education classes. Zach Burchett is the coach of our first E-Sports team and teaches Health and Team Sports. Isaac Sliger, our head football coach, teaches Team Sports and Physical Education. Anthony Meek rounds out the department by teaching Advanced Physical Conditioning. Melissa Winkler is the athletic Director and Kerry Brown is the Assistant Athletic Director. Thank you for a great start to the school year!
Brett Smith was new to the RCHS staff last year. He is our Construction teacher as well as Building Facilities Maintenance. He teachers students of all abilities valuable life lessons that they can take beyond the classroom. Brett also started the RCHS Unified Track team last year. Thank you for all you do!
This group of teachers needs no introduction. We have THE best music department. T.R. and Heather Campbell are the dynamic duo that keeps our band program the best around and Dave Doyle is in charge of our choirs! Music is such an important part of a student's career and we are lucky to have these amazing individuals helping with our student's development. Thank you!
Mrs. Gerrain has some new spirit wear items in the ROAR STORE! Reach out to Mrs. Gerrain if you have any questions. The newest spirit wear is a black long sleeve for $25.00 in sizes S-2XL & a red vintage tee for $20.00 in sizes S-2XL.
RCHS has a stellar Language Arts Department! We don't have any new teachers this year to the department, so we would like to recognize this team. We have Bryan Hummel, Hannah Lemmons, Keith Perin, Lindsay Tillison, Jennie Tague, and Jennifer Teague. Thank you for all you do!
We are highlighting the Social Studies Department! Kelley McDermott is a new member of the social studies department this year, but isn't new to RCHS (she covered Mrs. Sliger's maternity leave last year). We also have Jim Marlatt teaching Dual Credit courses to help students earn the ICC as well as Jeff Cox and Pat Haney teaching valuable courses for our students! Thank you!
On Thursday, October 17, 2024, Elizabeth Moffett from the Commission of Higher Education will be here to explain the processes for financial aid, including filing the FAFSA, grants, loans, and other sources for making higher education possible.
Remember that it is now a state law that all seniors must file a FAFSA. As we approach the filing deadline of April 15, 2025, more information regarding the opt out process will become available.
