The BRMS Grief Share student club received a mental health grant through the Rush County Community Foundation's Dave Kehl Memorial Fund to provide trauma-informed mindfulness techniques and yoga taught by Ms. Shlyla Sharp through May 2025. The RCCF's generous support will allow grieving students to learn from Shyla, a BRMS and RCHS alumni and certified 500-hour yoga teacher specializing in trauma-informed mindfulness techniques. BRMS Grief Share is led by Jessica Mastin, BRMS Student Assistance Counselor in partnership with Mrs. Courtney Caldwell, Centerstone Care Specialist. Shyla is also involved in the Rushville community by teaching yoga classes sponsored by the Rushville Parks Department. Shyla's local yoga classes are held at the Booker T. Washington building, 525 E 7th St in Rushville on Mondays from 6 - 7 PM. BRMS is truly grateful for the support from the Dave Kehl family and for Shyla's interest in making a positive impact in the lives of Rush County's students!

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!
The Benjamin Rush Middle School FCA, Mr. Smith, and Mr. Gaither, in partnership with the Little Flatrock Christian Church, donated and delivered five Thanksgiving meals again this year to BRMS families. They will also continue to collaborate during the holiday season to sponsor four students for Christmas! We are so grateful for their generosity and kindness each year. Thank you for all you do to support and provide for our students!
The BRMS Leaders In Training (LIT) Program is a new leadership and drug and alcohol education opportunity for students. Mrs. Sheila Hupp, the Founder of the LIT program, recently visited us. Sheila's LIT Programs are being utilized in schools and organizations in surrounding counties! Grant funding for the BRMS LIT Program is generously sponsored by the Rush County LCC and Tri Kappa.

Benjamin Rush Middle School is grateful for the generous donation of sweatpants for the clinic which is sponsored by Mrs. Carolyn Kramer and St. Paul's United Methodist Church! Last year they also sponsored winter hats and coats for BRMS students. We are very thankful for the amazing support St. Paul's United Methodist Church continues to give to our BRMS students each year!
Benjamin Rush Middle School is happy to announce that we have been honored as an Indiana Purple Star School! This designation is given to schools that show commitment to service members, veterans, and students and families connected to our nation’s military.
BRMS is happy to be partnering with the Rush County Community Assistance Food Pantry again this year to offer weekend back-sacks for students who may be facing food insecurities. The back-sacks help ensure students have nutritious food over the weekend and before holidays and school breaks.
Thank you, Rush County Community Assistance Food Pantry for supporting BRMS students and families! Thank you to Mrs. Wicker and Mrs. Amos for coordinating this important food program for BRMS students!
