Part 5! Scientific Ways of Knowing is another section of the Indiana College Core. Brooke Edwards is the instructor for BIO 101.
The class Introduces the basic concepts of life, including discussion of cellular and organismal biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, and interaction among all living organisms. The class also addresses applications of biology in a global community. Students are also exposed to and practice crucial lab skills, data collecting and analysis, and learn to develop and write evidence-based research papers.
Part 4! The next section of the ICC I would like to highlight is Speaking and Listening. Advanced Public Speaking is a course that satisfies this section of the ICC.
Mrs. Jennifer Teague will be teaching this course for the next school year. Advanced Public Speaking is a dual credit course through Indiana University. The curriculum requires students to explore and consider why we communicate in certain ways and how to utilize various rhetorical approaches to construct effective speeches for a variety of purposes. We study public speaking through a philosophical lens, preparing students for successful communication in college and throughout their careers.

Dual Credit U.S. History offers students the opportunity to earn 6 college credits (3 per semester) in U.S. History. The class challenges students with a fast-paced, rigorous curriculum that focuses on historical analysis, argumentative writing, perspectives, and connection to the contemporary world. Dual Credit U.S. History is an excellent opportunity to learn about the history of the United States, earn college credit, and also prepare for the challenges of a college workload.
