This is a reminder that school will not be in session on Monday, September 2nd, 2024.
RCHS Students and FFA Chapter Officers- Meredith Erwin, Jentri Wallace, Jenna Lawler, and Haley Stahl- attended "Shop Talk," an Ag policy discussion sponsored by the Indiana Soybean Alliance and the Indiana Corn Growers Association and hosted by Mark Bacon. Students had the chance to meet political leaders Cory Criswell and Jefferson Shreve. While there, these students got to explore what it is like to have a career in Ag Policy and Economics.
Our Math Department is up next! Please welcome Libby Adams to the math department! She joins Karen Brashaber, Joni Fenimore, Jenni Philpot, and Lisa Wagner. Our math department has a combined total of 143 years of experience! We are so thankful to have them at RCHS!
The seniors are still leading in attendance, but the freshmen made a run last week trailing the seniors by only .49%! YTD the juniors are catching up and only trailing the seniors by .33%. Who will win the month of August??
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! ⚽️💜
This year is the 4th Annual SPARC x Lady Lions Soccer Suicide Prevention game. This game means so much to our coaches and athletes. Our hope is that more people will be aware of the amazing resources Rush County has available for mental health.
Each year we donate our proceeds to the family of Zora Allstatter, a gifted Union County student-athlete who tragically took her own life in 2021. Zora's family uses the money we raise each year to supply scholarships to several deserving high school seniors at Union County to offset college costs for them. This year we are selling rubber bracelets in Rushville colors, Union County colors, and Suicide Prevention colors for $6 each. Those interested can reach out to any RCHS girls soccer athlete or coach to place their order.
We look forward to seeing our community rally around us for such a great cause!
Next up is our Business Department! We are excited to welcome Mr. James Allen to the Lion Family! Julie Wainwright and Diane Personett are veteran teachers in this department and are making sure he feels right at home! Please join us in welcoming James as well as celebrating Julie and Diane!

Our Art Department is Mrs. Hoeing and Mrs. Schultz! They are both Rushville grads and they do a phenomenal job of fostering creativity in their classrooms! We love when the showcases in our hallways get filled with student art- it is impressive!!!
We would like to start spotlighting our amazing teachers! First up is the Modern Language Department. Ms. Kemple and Ms. Rosario do such an amazing job teaching Spanish to our students! Spanish dual credit is a great way to rack up college credits for the ICC and even work towards the associates degree!
Our board is updated with a year to date percentage as well as the week! Keep up the great attendance, everyone!

Brevin Runnebohm, District Technology Coordinator, praised Zach Hoeing for his calm demeanor and tenacity to get things done! Nicole Tuttle was an intern this summer and was AMAZING. We were so lucky to have her this summer. Thank you!

Holly Wagner will be serving as the Deputy Director of Indiana FFA beginning August 19th. She will work with the Indiana FFA staff to provide leadership to the more than 14,000 FFA members and support to the state's agricultural education instructors and FFA advisors. Holly says that "working with the Rushville FFA members and becoming part of this community has been a true honor and joy. It is difficult to leave a place I love so much, but I am excited to take on this new leadership position and work for the members, teachers, and supporters of Indiana FFA." Even though we are devastated to lose such an amazing instructor, we know this is an incredible opportunity and she is very deserving of this role. Please help us congratulate Holly on this achievement. She will make an even bigger impact and the state FFA office has gained a phenomenal person in their department.
RCHS graduate Mason Gordon was honored by Indianapolis Business Journal as one of the 20 In Their Twenties Top Leaders. Congratulations, Mason! He is pictured with Mr. Orme, wife Katie, and daughter Charlee.
